British Columbia Weather

Spring and summer temperatures in BC range from daytime highs of 22 C (72 F) on the coast to upwards of 40 C (104 F) in the interior. This makes British Columbia the perfect destination for any number of outdoor and water-based activities. While weather on the coast is somewhat humid - Vancouver and Victoria see exceptionally high amounts of annual rainfall - the weather inland is much drier. In fact, the Okanagan valley lies at the northern point of the Sonoran desert and enjoys hot, dry summers. Winters in BC vary anywhere from cool and wet on the Vancouver Coast and Vancouver Island, to dry and snowy in the Interior and Northern BC. Winter temperatures tend not to dip below the 0 C (32 F) mark in and around the coast, but interior and northern regions of British Columbia plummet to well below the freezing level - sometimes as cold as -40 C (-40 F). This makes BC a haven for Skiing, Snowboarding and Snowmobiling and other winter sports.
